Day #71

How is it one little boy can mess up every room in our house? I say that because as I am walking through assessing the damage, it looks like I have something to pick up in every room!!! Good thing he's so cute :)

We had a pretty good day today. Both boys slept until 8:00 this morning!! Alden woke up once at 4:00, but went right back down after eating. I hope this is a trend that continues. So since Adam wasn't going to take a morning nap we were up and out of the house pretty early. We treated ourselves to a breakfast out this morning. Then we headed to the commissary to grocery shop. I should have taken a picture. I somehow managed to hold $130.00 worth of groceries in that double stroller. We are quite the spectacle when we're out. Then we stopped for a few minutes in the indoor playground while I fed Alden. Adam enjoyed climbing on the equipment. The next stop was the PX.

Both boys managed to go down for naps together and I got to talk to Abrahm on the webcam again for over an hour. It was great. At the end of the conversation Adam woke up so he got to see Abrahm too. He was so excited. He kissed the screen several times and typed his own name!!! He even recognized his name when Abrham typed it on the screen. I just think there is one problem with this whole webcam thing. Now I think Adam thinks his daddy is in the computer!! Kids....

Well both boys went down well tonight. Adam at 8:00 and Alden at 9:00. Let's pray for another good evening!!

Day #70

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! seems to be the theme of the week. We've had about 3 inches since Sunday and it was still snowing when I looked out the window last. So much for spring! The last couple of days have been pretty good. I didn't write last night because we have been having some posting problems. I have been trying to post pictures tonight, but I am having difficulties. Hopefully I can figure it out. Yesterday we spent the day in meetings. We had and FRG meeting with all the other FRG leaders. Then we had to make the newsletter. We were gone most of the day.

Then last night we had a big battalion potluck/meeting. It went until 9:00!! Adam is in bed no later than 8:00 at night, so it was a little much for him. Although I have to say I was proud of him for being a good listener and playing with his playdough instead of running around while the guest speaker was talking (he spoke for 1 hour!!!)

Both boys slept very well last night. Alden slept from 9:30 until 4:30 and then slept until almost 8:00 this morning and Adam slept until almost 8:00. It was so nice. Hopefully we'll do that again tonight.

This morning we went to playgroup at Gymnastics Inc. Adam had a blast. He loved jumping on the mini trampoline, playing on the see saw, and riding the scooter around the gym. He was so excited to play with his friend Lauren. He even asked for her by name when we were talking about going to play today. After playgroup we came home and the boys took naps.

I got a nice surprise during naptime. I was able to see Abrham on the webcam again. We were able to talk for a long time. It's so great to be able to see him. He is doing well. Staying busy. He said he got a package from Nana today. His unit was on CNN this evening. It showed them slingloading a blackhawk that had to make an emergency landing. Abrahm was on that mission.

This evening Adam got into a little trouble. I was in the computer room for a few minutes. He was in the kitchen playing in the box of those packing peanuts. He had been moving them in and out of his bucket with a shovel. While I was in the computer room he decided to dump the entire box on the floor. My entire kitchen was covered!!! It took us 30 minutes to clean them up. Adam kept saying Mom help and messy.

Well I am off to bed now. I'll keep trying to post the pictures. Hopefully it will work.

Day #68

Happy Easter!!! We hope you all had a great day. Ours wasn't too bad. Actually pretty good. We got up and got to church on time (8:30) with everyone still pretty happy. Alden stayed awake through church (but just smiled and talked). Adam stayed in church long enough to hear the bell choir, then he went with Miranda to play in the nursery. After church on Easter Sunday, the teenagers always cook breakfast for the congregation. It's a fundrasier for them. So we went downstairs and ate pancakes and ham and peaches. Yummy. Once we got home I let the boys (mostly Adam) dig into the Easter basket. He was all excited. Alden liked his toy that played music, but was mostly crabby because he was ready for his nap. This afternoon everyone (including mommy) had a nap. We then got up and played with our colors and playdough. We ended the evening reading books. What a nice day!!!!

Day #67

Good evening everyone. We had a pretty good day here! Kind of a rough evening, but not too bad. All day we spent cleaning and organzing for our party this evening. We had some friends from church over. Adam's favorite friends came over, Lauren and Miranda. They played, hunted Easter eggs in the living room and at dinner. After dinner they played more and then made their own desserts. I think everyone had a nice time. The kids were all really good. Adam was a bit wild, but not too bad. I got to "talk" to Abrahm today via the webcam. I could see and hear him from Iraq. He could only hear us since we don't have a webcam yet. It was great to see him. He looks great! He says his hair is too long, but it looks just right to me. He's had the last couple of days off from flying, but will resume his flying tomorrow. He had a meeting with the Senator from Rhode Island and Wolf Blitzer today. It was short and for commanders and first seargents in the Battalion. So who knows, maybe the Sugar Bears will end up on the news!! Well I better sign off. I'm tired and tomorrow proves to be a wild day! Good night!!!

Day #66

HAPPY 70TH BIRTHDAY PAPAW!!!!! We hope you had a great birthday. We had a great day. It started off with a great night. Alden slept from 8:30 to 4:00 and then until 7:15. Yea!! We're praying for a repeat performance tonight. Alden and Adam both woke up happy and ready to go. So ready that neither had morning naps !!! Abrahm called and we got to talk to him for a while. He is doing well. Getting busy again. He (along with his battalion) has a meeting with the Senator from Rhode Island tomorrow. After our phone call, we headed to the commissary and PX to pick up a couple of things for tomorrow. When we got home Adam took a 3 hour nap! When he woke up we colored and played and ate dinner. Then tonight we colored easter eggs. Not sure why I thought we should do it, but we did and it went surprisingly well. Adam liked dropping the eggs into the dye. He was amazed how they turned colors. I videotaped the process so be on the lookout for a new DVD soon. Both boys went down very well this evening. Adam was in bed by 8:00 and Alden by 9:00. Let's pray for another good night!! (I've tried posting pictures and have been having problems. I'm going to try it one more time and if it doesn't work, I'll try again tomorrow)

Day #65

Good evening everyone. What a beautiful day we had here. Very warm and sunny. No jacket was needed today. Yea!! We had an okay day here. Alden had a very crabby day. He was crabby most of the night last night and almost all day today. I think his tummy is still bothering him. He has lots of gas and is spitting up. His skin is a little better, but not much. No one else seems concerned right now, so we'll just wait until our next doctor's appointment in two weeks. He did go down rather quietly this evening. He ate about 6 ounces and went right to sleep. He's been down for 2 hours now. Hopefully he'll give me a good night. Adam had a great day! He wore his new hat all day! Everyone around town asked him about it. He just smiled. We went to playgroup at church this morning. He played with Lauren and Kate. He was into the playdough and kitchen toys today. He also liked the tractor they have to ride on. We then went to get a hair cut. We went someplace new today because I just wanted his bangs trimmed and over his ears trimmed. The lady did an okay job, but not for the $10.00 she charged me!!!! I guess it's back to post next time. We played this on the porch this afternoon and baked carrot cupcakes before bed. Adam insisted on licking the beaters!! Tomorrow we're going to dye Easter Eggs and pick up for our party on Saturday night. Not much else going on here.
