Playtime at Regina's

Last Thursday, our friend Regina invited us over to her house to play on their new playground after school. The kids had a great time and all of us mommies enjoyed having some time to chat. Thanks Mrs. Regina!

Weekend Fun

We spent ALL weekend working! We spent all day on Saturday outside working in the yard. Abrahm mowed. I planted flowers. We raked and bagged up all kinds of junk. We went through the kids' sandbox and sand toys. We scrubbed the patio. By the end of the afternoon we were exhausted. To reward the kids for being good helpers all day, we hooked up the sprinkler and let the kids play in the water and eat popsicles.

All that work and playing in the sprinkler really wears a girl out!
She fell asleep on the couch at 5:00 after having her bath and watching a movie. Notice her hand is in the snack cup and she is asleep on her sippy cup. She was one tired girl!

Adalee's 2 Year Doctor's Visit

Adalee had her two year old doctor's visit last week. She weighs 28 pounds and is 37 inches long. She is in the 50th% percentile for weight and 60th% for height. The doc said she looked very healthy and was very impressed with how smart she was. While I was talking with the doctor, Adalee was looking at an alphabet book. She kept telling us the letters and their sounds. The doctor was very surprised she would know that already. She also felt she had really good motor skills despite still having some issues with her foot turning in. Her only concern was her speech. She is talking more and more, but it isn't as clear as most children her age. No surprise there, since all 3 of my kids have had speech delays. She feels it could be her chronic ear infections/fluid issues so she wants us to do a hearing screening. She isn't too concerned, but wants to get things checked out before we move.
Here's what's happening with Adalee at 2:
*She is a loving little girl. She gives lots of kisses and hugs.
*She is such a little girl (when she isn't being a wild boy!). She loves dolls and jewelry and dresses, but also loves to run and wrestle and play in the dirt.
*She loves her boys! She is always about 1 step behind them. They are really including her in their games and activities. She feels like such a big girl.
*She is saying more and more everyday. I love how she says, "I don't know", "my turn", and at night when she prays the first thing she says is, "Dear God, Thank you for ME!"
*She is so smart. She knows most of her letters and sounds. She can tell you how old she is and is trying to count. She is even picking up a couple of words in French.
*I love her curls! She still has a wild mess of curly hair. She loves to lay on my lap when she is tired and have me run my fingers through it. I am going to miss that when she decides she doesn't like that anymore.
*There are so many things that make her special and unique. I look forward to seeing what God has planned for this little one.
Adalee, Mommy and Daddy love you very much!
