And I Am Spent...

I have spent ALL day long today updating the blog. So you guys can quit leaving me nasty messages, notes, and phone calls :-) I am going to warn you now: There are a ton of pictures! Over 250! They will not all load on your computer at the same time. As you scroll down and come to the end just click on "older posts" to see the next page of photos. I have divided them up by days. I have Day 1 to 11. Let me know if you have any issues. Enjoy!

It was an amazing trip and I am just about as exhausted posting all these pictures as I was the day we returned home. Already planning the next adventure... stay tuned for pictures!

Day 11 - From Athens to Lille

Finally, it was time to say goodbye to Greece. We packed up our marbles, took the metro to the train, the train to the airport, and a 4 hour flight back to Paris. Everything worked like clockwork until we went to get on the train for Lille. Our train had been cancelled and there was no plan for another one. So they threw on us another train that was going to Brussels with a stop in Lille. However, everyone else was doing the same thing and there were no seats left. So we found a spot between two cars and the kids sat on the floor outside the toilets and we stood nearby. As it turns out, we were extremely lucky. Right now traveling is very difficult in Europe generally (and France particularly). Between the volcano in Iceland and a partial railroad strike have made it tough to move around. We were extremely lucky and got home just in time. Whew. Time to start planning our next adventure…..

Adalee and Daddy
Happy Birthday sweet girl! The day we left Athens was Adalee's 3rd birthday. I can't believe she is 3 already. We'll be having her party next weekend.

Day 10 Athens - Museum of Natural History/Playmobil Fun Park

This was out last day in Athens. Delphi had been a long day and the next day was going to be a long day of traveling, so we thought another “kid day” was in order. We took a train to the northern suburbs and went to a Natural History Museum that was filled with stuffed animals upstairs and all kinds of crystals and fossils downstairs. After lunch we went to the Playmobil Fun Park. They have converted the upstairs of a Playmobil warehouse into a large playroom filled with Playmobil toys. It was a very clean and well organized facility and the kids had a blast. It was a great way to get rid of excess energy before our big travel day.
