Day #121 (Moose Poop)

It's been a rough couple of days. I am pretty exhausted, but maybe things are turning around. Monday and Tuesday nights we were all up all night long. Alden decided he didn't want to sleep. He just wanted to scream. Because of all the screaming Adam woke up both nights and had a difficult time going back to sleep. Last night we did much better, so I hope we're back on track. Everyone has been kind of grumpy around here.

We have managed to do a few fun things. We spent yesterday running errands for Adam's birthday party. Then last night we met some friends at the Salmon Bake for dinner. We played on the playground, ate halibut, and saw some ducks. We did have a great time (even though the boys were pooped!).

Today we went to playgroup this morning and then spent the rest of the day getting ready for Adam's birthday party tomorrow. I forgot how much fun birthdays can be. Adam is so excited. He has helped make the cake and some of the party favors. He is so giddy and ready to celebrate. When you ask him how old he is going to be he says "two."

Dad is feeling much better. So much better he spent the day outside fixing up the lawn and house from the winter. It looks great!!! As Adam and I were taking a tour of the yard, I was pointing out moose poop so he wouldn't step in it. He then proceeded to walk around saying "Moose Poop, Moose Poop, Moose Poop." The things he picks up :) Well I better go get things ready for tomorrow!

Day #119

Not such a good day here. Let's see...Last night Alden woke up at 2:00 am and pretty much cried until 4:00 am. Which in turn woke up Adam. Who then stayed awake pretty much until his morning nap at 9:00. Jeep went in to be repaired...$400.00 later....Dad got sick and spent most of the night at the emergency room...And it's 1:00 am and Alden just woke up fussing to eat again...Adam is restless and I am exhausted. Other than that things are great :)

Day #118

Good day today. Yucky night last night. Alden had a rough night. Adam got up very early this morning. The day did improve with time. A big part of the day we spent on webcam with Abrahm. We got to see him again. We talked a couple of times in between errands and work. He is doing well. Staying busy as usual. He has to fly a mission tomorrow.

We spent the day running errands and rearranging the house. We moved the computer to the family room, since I seem to spend so much time here. It's much nicer. Adam can play with all his toys and Alden has all his stuff in this room too.

Nothing else exciting to report. Tomorrow we have more errands planned and lots of work to do. Just for the record. Dad drove the Lumina to the store today. It made it through it's 3rd Alaskan winter and keeps on ticking!!!!

Day #117

We had a good day today. We missed church this morning. The boys had an extremely late night so they needed extra sleep this morning. But we did manage to make it to Sunday Brunch at Pike's. Adam ate everything in sight and Alden slept the whole time.

After brunch we went to the commissary and PX. Mom and Dad shopped while Adam, Alden and I played on the playground (well Adam played, Alden and I just watched!).

This afternoon both boys took good naps and I actually got more quilting done. I have 1/3 of it complete now. Yea!!! Hopefully over the next two days I can finish. We also got to talk to Abrahm a while on line. We haven't gotten to talk this week, so it was nice. He is doing well. He's getting over a stomach bug the rest of the post seems to have. He has flown the past two nights and should have tomorrow off from flying.

Adam is enjoying having his Papaw at his beckon call. They have become instant buddies and spent the day playing. Alden is enjoying Grandma Jean. She is already spoiling him!!!!

Day #116

What an exciting day for Alden. He rolled over!!!! Hooray for Alden! He was laying in his crib for tummy time after his nap and he just rolled right on over. Didn't seem to exert much effort or anything.

Another big milestone for us was the boys sleeping in the same room last night. They managed to sleep all night together without waking each other up. Adam went down first, then Alden (like I said last night,he fussed some). Then he woke up at 3:00 am. I gave him his paci and he slept until 5:00 am. He then ate and went back to sleep until 8:20 or so. Adam woke up around 8:00. So we have our fingers crossed for tonight too.

This afternoon Ross and Rachel kept the boys while I went to a Mother/Daughter Tea with Mrs. Suzanne. It was nice to get away from the boys for a while. I think Adam wore Mr. Ross out. It's amazing how much energy a little one has.

Then tonight Grandam Jean and Papaw Tony came to Fairbanks. They were minus their luggage, but hopefully that will arrive tomorrow.

Day #115

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! Today marks exactly 4 months since we said goodbye to Abrahm on a cold (very cold) winter night. One third of the way done. Yea!!!!! That sounds so good. Eight more months to go doesn't sound so good, so we won't look at it that way :)

We had a boring day here. Well I guess not so boring for Adam. It was his favorite day of the week. Garbage Day!!! It should not surprise me when he turns out to be a garbage collector one day. I let him have a special treat today. We actually went outside and waited for him to come (You can bet I never thought I'd be getting excited about sitting outside waiting for the garbage man). Adam was so excited. He kept saying "help garbage man" and "garbage truck in street". "Adam help." I know the garbage man must think I am nuts taking pictures of trash day. Maybe it made them feel like celebrities :)

Alden had a big night. He had rice cereal. He's had it a couple of times before, but tonight I actually put him in the high chair. He really enjoyed it tonight. He ate a lot! He was very messy at the beginning, but by the end he was starting to get the hang of it. Another milestone!

Another big event happened today. I sucked it up and moved Alden into Adam's room. I figured if I wait for Alden to sleep all night he may never move into the room, so I said it's now or never. Of course he did pick tonight to cry and fuss and have a hard time settling down. Adam seems to have slept through it. Both boys currently are sleeping (I think) so that's one hurdle down. Pray the night goes smoothly. If not reinforcments are coming tomorrow!! My mom and dad are coming tomorrow night for two weeks.

One last little bit of info. I want to send out our congratulations to the Gross Family. Mike and Janel are now the proud parents of beautiful Aislyn Grace born early yesterday morning. All seem to be doing well. We're excited to meet her when we come home in July!!!!
