Day 30 - Travel Day HOME!!!

This was is it. The last day of this adventure. We had a 7 hour drive to make. We had a quick breakfast with the Marshalls, thanked them for everything they did, and hit the road. Thankfully everything went very well and we arrived home by 6:00 pm. It was truly a once in a lifetime trip! We had an amazing time and saw so many wonderful things. Just spending 30 days together as a family was probably the best part. Since Abrahm has been gone so much, I am truly blessed when we get to spend time together as a family. I can't wait to start planning our next adventure!!!!

Day 29 - Salzburg, Austria/Stuttgart, Germany

This morning it was still raining, but we decided to make a stop at the Mirabell Gardens. It is a beautiful garden originally built in 1730. It is also the site of several Sound of Music scenes. Afterwards, we drove to Stuttgart, Germany. We had dinner with and spent the night at Ron and Janet Marshall’s (friends from Ft Campbell). We had a great time catching up and they fixed a fantastic dinner. Thanks again!

Day 28 - Salzburg, Austria

The rain continued today, so in search of something that we could inside, we ended up at the Stiegl World of Beer. They had an area that showed how beer was made and a museum of old equipment. Sort of like Chocolate World… At the end of the tour, we decided to have lunch at their restaurant. It turned out to be an unusual meal. The kids ordered meatloaf that turned out to be more like a super-sized hotdog, Abrahm had a sampler plate that had horseradish sausage that could kill a horse, and Grammy Gay had her first beer. In the afternoon, we took a Sound of Music tour that showed us many of sites that were in movie and where the real von Trapp family lived.
