I've been a very bad blogger. Too much going on and nothing photo worthy! Abrahm was gone for a week to the south of France for training. I got pretty sick while he was gone. I got a nasty sinus infection and had some pretty severe withdrawal issues from a medication I had been put on for my breathing issues the week prior. Needless to say, not a week that I want to relive again any time soon! I am so thankful for my friends that are here with me. They hauled me back and forth to the doctors and helped keep me sane when I felt miserable!
After Abrahm returned I started feeling better. Last week was crazy for us. Just lots of stuff to do. We did host our first dinner party for our French neighbors. We have 4 college students that live in our building. One is a nurse going through her pediatric specialty now (she also babysits for us often), two are med school students in their residencies, and the last one is a girl who is going to school to be a teacher. They are all great folks. We treated them to a traditional souther BBQ dinner. We had barbque ribs, twice baked potatoes, baked beans and a salad with American salad dressing. They loved it and ate most of it all gone! It was a fun evening.
The weather is getting a little better here in Lille so we have been taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine and are spending more time outside. This week coming up will be hectic as well. We are celebrating Carnival here. A lot like Mardi Gras, just at the wrong time. The kids have to dress up for school on Thursday, so I have to figure out costumes this week. On Friday we are having all the folks from Arahm's office over for dinner. We're doing the BBQ thing again. We figure if it worked once, it should be okay the second time.
Otherwise, the kids are doing really well. We had a conference with Adam's teacher a few days ago and she gave him rave reviews. She feels his is right on track to be successful next year in 2nd grade. She said he is raising his hand to answer questions and to read aloud now. We are so proud of him!
