It's Been A While...

It's been quite a while since I have blogged regularly.  I originally started blogging for Abrahm in 2005.  He was deploying to Iraq, and I was 9 months pregnant with Alden and had an 18 month old.  At the time, communication wasn't very good over there, and I didn't want Abrahm to miss out on Alden's first year!  So everyday I would post pictures of the boys and type out what we had done that day.  That way when Abrahm got a chance to get to the internet, he could see what was going on.  After he returned home, the grandparents still hounded me for pictures daily, so I kept it up.  We kept moving, Abrahm kept deploying and Grandparents kept whining, so I continued to blog.  Then Facebook came along and we stopped moving and traveling, so I stopped blogging.

However, as of late, I have quit enjoying Facebook.  What used to be a fun way to keep up with family and friends, has turned into posts filled with anger, hate, and rage.  I believe that it's okay that we each have our own opinions and beliefs.  I love that about my family and friends.  I love a healthy debate on issues.  I have been know to change my thoughts based on my own experiences, research and counsel from wiser people than myself.  I just don't like the tone many people have taken lately, by people on ALL sides of the issues.  So I am leaving Facebook and starting blogging again.  (I won't be deleting my account since Abrahm's business page is connected to it, but I won't be checking my personal page.)  So if you want to check in on our family, you can find us here or you can send me an email at amych47@aol.com :-)

Wintertime Fun!

Today after hockey games and practices, we decided to pack up our sleds and head to Clarkson Hill to go sledding.  Grammy Gay and PopPop sent Alden new sleds for his birthday, so he was excited to try them out.  It was cold, but fun!

Wipeout!

Adalee tried out snowboarding on her sled.  She had a couple nasty falls, but had some good runs as well.

Alden's Elementary School Granduation

Alden graduated from Elementary School today!  I was in charge of decorations and we used "Oh the Places You'll Go" theme.  I hate that Abrahm is in Africa, but we took lots of pictures so he could see.  It was a fun day to celebrate our 4th graders!

Adalee's Last Hockey Game of the Season

Adalee LOVED hockey this year!  She really improved over the season.  By the end of the season, she was so much more confident.  She is anxious to play 3 VS 3 this spring with all of her friends.

The Boys Lead out the Clarkson Men

This year the boys were able to skate well enough to lead out the Clarkson Men's Hockey Team.  They were so excited!  Most of my pictures were lost when my computer died, but these were recovered somehow.  Adam got to hang out with Paul Geiger, his favorite player and Alden got to hang out with Steve Perry, his favorite goalie (who came to us from Fairbanks where Alden was born!).  I love that Clarkson lets the kiddos be a part of the game too!

On the 17th, Alden turned 9. Since it was a half day at school, we decided to have his party right after school got out that morning. We had a fun day celebrating. Can't believe he is 9!
