Merry Christmas 2012

We had a very Merry Christmas up here in the North Country.  We woke up, ate our traditional breakfast of sticky buns and then started to open presents.  I got my wish once again, as we woke up to beautiful snow falling down from the sky.  So we had the most beautiful backdrop to open presents!  That evening Grammy Gay and PopPop showed up in time for Christmas dinner!

Santa Came!

Presents were delivered, Stockings were filled, and cookies were eaten.  Now all we need are three anxious and excited little ones!  Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Festivities

Every Christmas Eve we open our new jammies, eat yummy appetizers and watch The Polar Express before heading to bed.  This year was no different.  They enjoyed eating the snacks and watching the movie and getting ready for Santa to come!

Our Neighborhood Deer

We have been seeing deer the past few days along our tree line.  This day there were 4 wandering through.  They chewed some of the trees in the woods and then moved on across the street.  I love these guys!

Cookie Time

As part of our tradition, we made Christmas cookies.  They had fun cutting out their shapes and decorating them.  They are really starting to take care in their decorating (well except Adalee who dumps as much on each cookie as she can).  They then picked out just the right cookies to leave for Santa!

Patiently waiting to decorate

Fondue Time

As part of our pre-Christmas celebration, we had fondue one night.  We had never done that with the kids before, so we thought we would try it.  They loved it!  They ate a ton of meat and potatoes and just about finished off the chocolate!

Ready to cook the meat and potatoes

Bring on the chocolate!

Letters to Santa

This year we were a little late writing our letters to Santa, but we got it done!  They did try to make some last minute changes, so I had to do some quick talking.  However, in the end, all was well and the lists were completed just in time to leave for Santa!

Adalee did a great job writing her whole letter, all by herself!
