Plane trip to the US

On the 5th of July, we boarded our plane in Brussels bound for Atlanta, Georgia.  We had a layover in New Jersey.  Overall the flights went really well.  The kids did a great job helping and no one was too crabby!  It was so sad to leave France and all of our friends, but we were definitely happy to be back on American soil for good!

Passing time on the flight with their DSs.

Adalee enjoyed coloring in her new Princess Book that Sixtine had given her.

Last Day of School in France

Our last day of school was a little bittersweet.  The kids were happy to be done with school, but really sad to say goodbye to everyone.  Lots of tears that day for sure!

Leaving the apartment for our last day.

Making a final stop at the boulangerie for a donut!

Walking to school one last time.

I made these little treats for the kiddos the share with their friends.

Saying Goodbye to Sophie

The last two years we were in France, Mlle Sophie was the boys' tudor.  She would come 2 days a week and help them with their homework and go over any concepts they didn't understand.  She was fabulous!  She is French, but completely fluent in English as well.  We love and miss her so much!

Our Last Trip to Paris

Our last full weekend in France, I took the kiddos back to Paris for one last trip.  They had always wanted to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, so we just couldn't leave France without making that happen.  We got up early on Saturday morning and jumped on the train.  Once we arrived in Paris, we headed to the Tulleries Garden and wandered around for a bit.  The kids enjoyed the fountains and all the trees and paths.

After the Tulleries, we headed to the Orangerie Museum.  Since we had a book about it, the kiddos wanted to see those paintings.  They loved seeing all of the Monets and exploring a new museum.

After the Orangerie, we ate lunch and headed to the Luxemburg Gardens.  They are one of my favorite gardens in Paris.  We played on the playground and had some snacks.  I think we were at the park for about 4 hours!  What a great way to spend our last full day in Paris.  As we were leaving to meet some of my cousins for dinner, we got stuck in the middle of the Gay Pride parade.  It was crazy and a little uncomfortable to say the least.  They had closed off several metro stops, so we ended up walking for about 2 miles to an open stop.  We made it to dinner on time though, and enjoyed hanging out with Jeff, Diane, Dina and Ridley!

After dinner, we watched the Eiffel Tower sparkle on last time and headed to our hotel.  We needed to get into bed early, because on Sunday morning, we were heading to the Top of the Eiffel Tower!!

Sunday morning, we got up early to get in line.  It opened at 9:00am, so we got in line at 8:15.  Only 1 lift was working so wait times were well over 3 hours.  We knew this ahead of time, so that's why we were up so early!  Once the Tower opened, it only took about 20 minutes and we were at the top.  The kids were so excited!  They were a little afraid of being so high, but loved picking out things they recognized from that high.

After the Eiffel Tower, we grabbed some breakfast and then headed to Trocadero.  It is the iconic spot to take pictures of the Eiffel Tower.  The kids spend their last couple of hours in Paris playing around and dancing!  It was such a wonderful memory to make of our last time in Paris!!  We all can't wait to go back!!!

End of the Year Celebrations

At the end of the year, each child has celebration in his/her class.  This year all 3 kiddos had their celebrations at the same time on the same day!  With only 1 of me and 3 of them, I didn't get to spend much time at any of the events.  Alden's class just had snacks.  I was only there about 5 minutes and didn't get any pictures :-(  Adam's class did a little play and then had snacks.  Then Adalee's class did their version of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar".  The special event in her class was that her teacher brought her new baby to show the kiddos!  It was a fun day for each of them.

I made these little treat bags for each kiddo to pass out to their friends with our new address and email on them.

Here is Adam in his class with two of his friends.

Alden and Benoit's Lunch Date

Alden brought his buddy Benoit for his special lunch.  Benoit is such a cutie.  He is the same age as Alden, but about he size of Adalee.  He is so sweet and well mannered.  They had a great time at McDonald's and then we headed home to play for a little while before school started again.

Adam decided to bring Joss and Edouard to his special lunch.  We went to McDonalds and then had fun at the park.  What a special day for him to spend with two of his best buddies.
