Day 98
Another exciting day here! Since we had the morning free today, we decided to get some sand for our sandbox. The playground Abrahm built has a sandbox in the bottom of it, we just never put sand in it. I measured it so I could see how much sand I needed. So off we went to Lowe's to buy sand. When we did all the calculations we found out we needed 25 fifty pound bags of sand to fill it up. We decided that might be a little more than we wanted, so we came up with plan B. We went to Toys R Us and bought a sandbox with a lid and only 6 bags of sand and put it inside the spot for the sandbox. It fit perfectly and the boys love it!
This afternoon I took Alden for his ENT appointment. His tonsils are HUGE and he is having some sleep issues. So after asking for this appointment since last year, they finally gave us one today. The doctor said his tonsils were indeed huge and that they needed to come out since he was having sleep and speech issues. So she set up his surgery for 20 May (Adam's actual birthday). She wants to do a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy. She was in and out so quickly, I didn't really get to ask many questions. I liked her, but still feel I want a second opinion before putting him under general anesthesia and cutting on him. So now I need to figure out how to get a second opinion from Vanderbilt.

The boys' new present from Grammy Gay! They love their new sandbox.

Day 97
No pictures today, but a cute story instead. Adam and Alden were chatting in the van on the way home from picking up Adam from school. Alden was telling Adam all about his day.
Adam, "Alden, did you have fun today?"
Alden, "Yes, but on the playground someone was mean to me."
Adam, "We don't play with mean people. We aren't going to invite any mean people to our house."
Alden, "That's right Adam, no mean people at our house!"
Adam, "We can just recycle them (the mean kids)."
Perhaps we're spending a little too much time getting "Earth Friendly". But wouldn't it be nice to be able to "recycle" all those mean kids? Out of the mouth of babes!

Day 96
Happy Earth Day everyone! We had a busy, but good day today. We mostly enjoyed our beautiful Earth. We went to swim class this morning and then Grammy Gay kept them at the playground while I grocery shopped. Then we went to Chick Fil A for lunch. Then we came home and unloaded the car and headed to target to get a few things. Since today was Earth Day we decided to take the plunge and start recycling. The birds started recycling for us when they used my grill as a nest. Silly birds! Then we recycled our old laundry sorter into our recycling basket. We made signs and even put a few things in already. Adam was very excited about the whole recycling thing. I also have been purchasing those reusable bags for my groceries instead of using the plastic ones. I love them, but it's hard trying to convince the baggers that they are better. So I guess you could say this Earth day we did try to make a very small difference.
