What a fun day today. We had orginally planned to go to Chena Lakes today with our friend Tricia and her two boys. But when we got up it was smokey and COLD!! It was 40 degrees this morning. So needless to say between the smoke and the cold we choose option #2. We decided to go to Eielson Air Force Base (about 45 mintues away) and let the kids blow off some steam at the indoor playground. We hadn't been before, but had heard good things, so we decided to give it a try.
The kids had a blast. We ate our picnic lunch and played for a long time in their playrooms. They have 2 separate rooms to play in. The first one was the toddler room. It had lots of fun "big toys" and mats to play on. Adam enjoyed driving the car and firetruck and going down the slide. Alden enjoyed playing too. After we were done in that room, we went to the big kids' room. It has a huge jugle gym with 3 super long slides. Adam was pretty scared at first, but after I went halfway up with him to show him how to do it, he went again and again and again. He had so much fun.
The facility was so nice and clean. The walls were all painted in a jungle theme. Very appealing to the kids. Best of all it is free!!! We'll definately have to spend some time there this winter. It was really nice to spend the day with our friends and get out of the house for a little while.
