Swimming at the Hotel

On both days of our trip we spend some time in the hotel pool.  It wasn't very big, but the kids enjoyed splashing and playing together.

Oostende Beach, Belgium

This morning before we left we spent some time on the beach.  The weather was actually okay, and we ended up frolicking on the beach by ourselves for about an hour.  It was a great way to start the day!

Alden just had to go all the way to the water!

These long shells really caught the kids' attention

Yorkshire Trench and Dug Out in Belgium

On our way home from Oostende, we stopped by Iepers to see the Trenches from WWI.  The children were extremely interested in the trenches.  It was amazing to see them.  I can't even begin to imagine living and fighting in those conditions.

You could see where the soldiers stood to take aim on the enemies.

Adalee's 5th Birthday!!

Saturday we had Adalee's 5th birthday party. She was so excited to have her friends come over and celebrate. She has been talking about a Rapunzel Birthday Party for the past 6 months! She had 8 friends from her school over and loved giving everyone directions in French! She was so cute. Happy Birthday my Sweet Baby Girl! Mommy and Daddy love you bunches!

Her birthday cake. I got the idea from here.

The cakes and cupcakes I made.

Adalee's Birthday Cookies for School

On Friday, before Adalee's birthday, she was allowed to bring a snack to celebrate. Her class has been working on caterpillars and butterflies, so we decided to make huge chocolate chip cookies and decorate it with the "Very Hungry Caterpillar". She was so excited to share it with her class. She even took her books in both English and French!

Tea Party Time

One day last week, Adalee had a friend over to play for the day. We had a tea party while she was here. They both had a fantastic time eating and drinking all the yummy treats!

Ready for our Tea Party!!

Easter Eats!

For Easter weekend, we made lots of yummy treats. A lot of the ideas came from Pinterest. For Easter Dinner, our neighbor joined us. We had a lovely dinner with ham, scalloped potatoes, pureed carrots, peas and dinner rolls. Then, of course we had tons of treats!
(I have added several posts today, click "Older Posts" at the bottom to see everything!)

Adam ready to eat one of his Easter eggs for breakfast. He loved the design his fingers made on this one.

Lunch - Cheese bunny quesadillas, carrots and dips (I just used ranch dip) , chips and a "carrot" strawberry!

Adalee and I made chocolate bird nests. Very easy!

Adalee and I also made "carrot" strawberries

I loved these egg cookies I made.
