On Sunday afternoon we headed to see the matinee showing of The Lion King. The children were amazed! They all loved it, especially Adam. Adalee spent most of the show dancing in her seat and Adam didn't move a muscle during the entire show. We had fantastic seats! Several times during the show the characters ran down the aisle beside us. Adalee loved the elephants that were beside us. It was an amazing show and Adam is currently saving his money so he can go again!

London - Day 1

Well the time has finally come! The much anticipated trip to London. We were all so excited to spend a week in such a great city. Overall the trip went very well. We are exhasuted from 7 days of going full speed, but it was definitely worth it. We hope you enjoy our adventure!

We were able to take the Eurostar to London. It is a direct high speed train that goes from Lille to London. It is only 1 1/2 hours away. It goes under the English Channel for about 25 minutes. It is kind of odd being under the water for that long. It is cool to see the ocean and then to all of a sudden go under it! What a treat for the kiddos.

After arriving in London we took the DLR to the Docklands and checked into our hotel. It was a little farther out, but worked just fine. It was a great hotel with a super suite and delicious free breakfast! We always have a difficult time booking hotels in Europe because there are too many in our family. We usually book an apartment, but because of Wimbledon there was nothing available (that we wanted to pay for) in center city. So we decided to stay here and even though it was a little farther out, the view was spectacular and it was just a couple of steps from the DLR.

After checking into our hotel we decided to hop onto the DLR (their light railway system) and head to Greenwich. We wandered around the city and stumbled upon a great little hands on and interactive museum. We learned a little about Greenwich and the kids had a great job at all of the stations. After the museum we headed to a pub to eat dinner and then back to the hotel so we could get some sleep for our big day tomorrow!

Alden and Adam as Greenwich Pensioners
The yellow coat meant that the Pensioner had been "naughty". Ironically enough, Adalee refused to wear it after she heard what it meant!
