Another Week Down
We had a very busy week again! I am beginning to think with three little ones, there is no other way to be! We had school, swim class, potty training, movie night, and a farewell for some friends.
School is still going very well. Both boys are working hard and doing a great job. It was an especially good week for Alden. He made two new friends! I have always worried about Alden making friends because he is so shy and always has had Adam around. Even though I know he plays with other kids, he is hesitant to call someone his friend (unlike Adam who never meets a stranger!). Well this week on our walk home one day, I asked Alden about his day and if he played with any "friends" today. Every other day he has said no. But this day, he said YES! I know he was getting along with the kids in his class because I had spoken with the teacher, but he never called them friends. He said he had 2 new friends. Then the next day after taking him back to school after lunch, the boys were standing there waiting for him to return. They hugged him and all of them ran off to play on the playground. I am so excited for Alden! He keeps talking about having them over to play. How does one set up a playdate in French? We'll see.
Swim class went better this week. Still no teacher in the pool with the kids, but they moved to a shallower pool and actually did swim lesson type things. I am not sure Alden will learn to swim like this, but at least he's having a great time!
The rest of the week we spent getting ready for a farewell. Our "sponsor" family is moving back to the US, so we hosted the party. We had almost 30 folks here, including children. We had a great time visiting with everyone.
This week for movie night we made homemade pizzas and homemade ice cream sundaes. It was our first time making ice cream since we moved. The movers managed to break the attachment for our kitchen aide mixer, so this will be our last batch of ice cream for a while! We'll have to get a new one sent over.
The kids enjoyed making ice cream sundaes and watching the movie "Aladdin". We've been singing the songs around here all weekend! I just love that we can have family nights now. I can't believe how big the kids are getting. We're moving away from all the baby things and into the BIG KID things! It's bittersweet seeing my "babies" grow up!

All the fixings for yummy ice cream sundae!

Well this week Adalee has decided she wants to use the big girl potty. Since Thursday night, she has gone "peeps" in the potty every single time. Even if she is wearing a diaper, she will take it off and go in the potty. She has done a great job. She still, however, will not go poop in the potty. It seems to scare her for some reason. I haven't pushed the issue. I did buy a baby doll a few weeks back and explain to her that if she poops in the potty she gets to have the doll. So for the past couple of weeks she has pointed to the doll sitting on her shelf and said "poop in potty get baby". Well last night while we had a house full of guests for the farewell, she decided she wanted to poop on the potty. So she went a little (enough to get her baby). She was so excited. However the excitement was short lived when she actually pooped on the floor in the playroom during the party! Too much excitement. So the baby is sitting back on the shelf in her room. We'll see how she does today! Wish us luck.
