Adalee feeding her baby. She likes to wrap it up in one of her spit rags and push it around the house. Such a little Mommy already.

Day 291

I don't have much energy this evening. I am just about exhausted. Mentally and physically. It seems as though we have another case of the sickies at this house. We spent over 2 hours at the doctor's office this afternoon.

It seems as though Adalee (who I took just to check her cough) has Atypical Pneumonia. She was coughing all night last night and today at the doc she was wheezing. They gave her a breathing treatment and some antibiotics and more steroids. She feels this is probably leftover from the croup she had a few weeks back.

She feels Alden has a viral infection. He has no wheezing and his oxygen saturation levels were great. So she said to just watch him and if his condition worsens to come back. She also had some other news for us. This morning Alden showed me a spot on the palm of his hand. It looked like he had a splinter that got infected. It was really yucky looking and swollen. Well the doctor looked at it and got concerned. She dug around it and cleaned it all out and sent a culture in. She feels it could be another MRSA infection. We should have the results in a couple of days. She said if it fills back up with puss and is still painful in the morning, it probably is and we have to go back in and start on antibiotics before the culture gets back. She also said if it is MRSA the whole family has to be treated. I don't know all the details because frankly I was too tired after holding Alden down screaming his head off while she dug around in his hand.

So please say a prayer that we get some much needed rest tonight and that Alden's hand will be all better in the morning. Also please pray that these medicines work on Adalee and that this doesn't turn in to full blown pneumonia. Also since you're praying, please pray my allergy issues don't turn into a sinus infection. I am bordering on it now and don't want to have to go back to the doctor. Thanks for your prayers and concern. We really appreciate it.

Day 290

Today was a fair day. We've had a long week and weekend. I think this almost 10 month deployment is starting to catch up to all of us. So this morning we went to Sunday School and then left church early. We went to the grocery store. The kids were great. Both boys pushed their carts around the store and did a fantastic job. They were actually big helpers. They even unloaded them when it was time to pay.
After the grocery store we headed home and I fixed lunch for the kids. After lunch Adalee took a nap, the boys played outside and I did some laundry. In between loads of laundry I ran outside to push my guys on the swing. Did I mention how much they love to swing! They could have someone push them for an hour straight and not get bored. All 3 give me a good workout at the park when I have to push all 3 at the same time.
During dinner Alden started complaining he was cold. I felt his head and he felt warm. After dinner I checked it and it was over 102. He has a yucky cough and is complaining his throat hurts. So I guess it's off to the hospital again tomorrow. We just can win around here!

I love fall. I love the weather turning cooler and the leaves changing colors. This one tree in our backyard just reminds me of fire everytime I look out of my window. It's so beautiful.

Day 289

Today was a very busy day. First Adam had a soccer game and pictures. They didn't win, but they did play hard. Adam still loves playing soccer. Yesterday the coach was having them focus on covering a particular player from the other team. Adam did a pretty good job and was really proud of himself. His coach keeps telling him, "Way to hustle!" So at break time he would come up to me and say, "Mom, do you like the way I am hustling?" Very cute!

After soccer we came home for a very quick nap for Adalee and then headed out to a hayride and bonfire. A couple in our Sunday School Class hosts this event on their family's property. The kids had a great time running and playing and roasting smores and hotdogs. On the ride home Adalee was entertaining our wagon load with her cute baby tricks. She was making all the animal sounds and signing and just being silly.

Adalee kept on climbing up the gate. She got pretty high a couple of times. It's hard to believe she is only 18 months sometimes.

All of the kids enjoying their smores. Well all except Adalee. She just got a graham cracker (but she seemed okay with that).

The sunset was amazing. There were so many stars in the sky. I wish I could have captured them. It's amazing how bright and beautiful the sky is when you get away from the city.
