Day #257

Sorry everyone for not posting the last couple of days and sorry for no pictures this evening. We have had a difficult couple of days. Without getting into any details, I need to pass along some bad news. A soldier in Abrahm's company died in Balad yesterday. So needless to say the last 24 hours have been an absolute whirlwind and stressful time for both of us. He's been handling everything from his end and I've been handling everything from this end. Please pray for this soldier's family as well as Abrahm and the rest of our soldiers.

On a different and better note. We are finally feeling better. Alden's ear is feeling better (I think). He had a really good day except for the lack of attention from mom because I have been on the phone 12 of the last 24 hours. He is crawling everywhere now. And today, he has pulled up a LOT!! He is officially mobile. I can't believe it's that time already. Seems like just yesterday he was born.

Adam has been a little fiesty the past two days. I am sure it also comes from Mommy not giving him the attention he needs. We did turn off the ringer tonight to have some uninterrupted family time. We were playing with his cars and his quilt map tonight. He got out his airplane and asked where it was supposed to go. I told him to put it in Alaska. He put it in the right place. But what surprised me the most was when he picked up the plane and said "It's flying to Pennsylvania". It was so clear just like he knew exactly what he was saying. How amazing to me. He also had swim lessons today. He is the only child in the class, with the exception of the 4 year old, that swims without a barbell float and swims with his arms and legs. He is doing so well. Yea for Adam!!!

Day #255

CONGRATULATIONS MAJOR DIMARCO!! Sounds kind of funny doesn't it? As of today Abrahm is officially a major. He hasn't pinned his rank on yet, but the pay starts today (which is all that really matters anyway :) When he does has his pinning ceremony I'll post lots of pictures.

Busy! Busy! Busy! That seems to describe our days these days. Yesterday we had lots of errands to run. We did manage to squeeze in a trip to the park. We finally had a day without rain. It was still chilly and overcast, but no rain (or snow)! Adam and Alden were both excited to get some fresh air.

Last night I had a "Spouses' Night Out" for the company. I arranged dinner at a local restaurant and several people from our church agreed to watch the children in the company. It was a great evening. It was nice to hang out with other adults and no children. Alden screamed the whole time I was gone, but at least Adam had fun. I think Alden's ear isn't feeling much better. I called his pediatrician yesterday, but she wasn't really any help.

Today we worked around the house. Adam and I read lots of books and played with playdough. We packed 14 boxes to be shipped to Abrahm. We then went to the post office to mail them. We made it 10 minutes before they closed. Needless to say they were quite upset with me. I didn't care. At least I got them mailed.

We were able to chat with Abrahm a while today. He is doing well. Staying very busy!!! Tomorrow proves to be another busy day. We're supposed to have our friends over for dinner and church and shopping. Sounds like such fun, doesn't it? Have a great evening!
