Day #114

Another fun and exciting day!! It started out with a rocky night though. Alden did pretty well, but Adam had issues. I figured he would have a difficult night since he hasn't slept well for his naps during the past 2 days. He woke up at midnight just screaming and crying. I finally put him in bed with me to calm him down. He must have been exhausted because he actually slept in the bed. At 6:00 I asked him if he wanted to go back to his bed and he said yes so I put him back. He then slept until around 8:30 or so. That's the latest he's slept in a long time!!

We had playgroup today. We met at Pioneer Park. It has a great playground and picnic area. We played with our friends Lauren, Kate, Miranda, Chandler and Christopher. The most fun was had just putting the rocks from the playground in and out of a bottle I gave Adam. He really liked it. He also liked the slides. We ate lunch there too!

This afternoon Adam slept for 3 hours and Alden slept for 2 1/2. Unfortunately I had too much to do so I got no nap!!

This evening we went to a friend from church's baby shower. The boys were pretty good overall (Alden got a little crabby). Adam just ate all the fruit in the house. Tomorrow we have to clean and get things ready for Grandma and Papaw's arrival on Saturday. Yea!!

Day #113

What a fun day we had. Not very restful (for the second day in a row!), but very fun. For lunch we met some friends and took a walk and had a picnic at Creamer's field. Creamer's Field is a place where all the migrating birds come to. We didn't see many birds today, but Adam didn't seem to mind. He just enjoyed running on the whole walk and chasing Christopher. He had fun eating a picnic lunch and then seeing a few ducks. He also had fun throwing rocks into the water.

Alden did pretty well. I had to keep him covered up because of the sunny weather. It was 75 or so today. Very hot for Fairbanks this time of year. He did manage to eat and watch the big kids play.

This evening our same friends came over for dinner. The kids rode their "bikes" in the driveway, played with sidewalk chalk and ran around the backyard. Adam should be exhaused tonight. I hope he sleeps okay!!!

Day #112

Good Evening All! Today was a better day for me. I am back to my old self. Overall we had a good day. Not much napping happening here though. Adam really didn't want to sleep today. He finally got two short (very short) ones. Even Alden didn't want to sleep. Let's hope they stored it all up for tonight.

This afternoon we ran out for a little while. We went to Fred Meyers to pick up some much needed items. Both boys did very well out.

After Adam's afternoon nap (or so we will call it) Mr. Ross came by and took him for a walk. After the walk they played in his truck and outside for a little while. Adam had a great time. Mommy enjoyed it too (had time to finish up dinner!)

Speaking of dinner, we ate for the first time out on our back porch. It was so nice. Not too hot and it's screened in so no mosquitos!! After dinner we played with bubbles and balls in the backyard.

Adam asked his first question yesterday. I was putting dinner away and I had a tupperware container out for the leftovers. He pointed to the container and said, "What in there?" So I guess the phase of a million questions has started!!

Day #111

Not much to report today. I spent most of last night and today in the bathroom with another round of the yucky tummy bug. Such fun. But I seem to have survived now and I just pray the boys don't get it.

We spent the day at home doing whatever would keep them happy and as much away from me as possible (in hopes they don't catch this). Tomorrow should be another quiet day for us.

Day #110 Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all those Mommies out there. A special Happy Mother's Day to my Mom and Abrahm's Mom. We hope you had great days!!

I guess after all has been said and done my Mother's Day was not so unlike any other day for us. No presents (except for the flowers Abrahm sent), no special meal out, no relaxing day away from the kids. Just the typical day in which Alden fussed almost all of, that Adam got sent to time out a few times, that I spent cleaning and washing bottles and picking up more and more toys, and reading and playing with Adam and loving and cuddling Alden (in between fits). So I guess I had a true "Mother's Day." And you know what I wouldn't change a thing! Being a Mommy to my two boys is an absolutely amazing experience, unlike anything I could ever imagine. Even with all the frustrations, the joys they give me more than make up for it all. So as I reflect on this speical day set aside for Mother's, I truly am thankful and feel so blessed.

Adam fed Alden for the first time last night. He fed him until his first burp. Great Job Adam!! Posted by Hello
