Day 1 - Dijon, France

Well our big adventure began today. We left the house around 9:30 this morning and arrived in Dijon around 4:00. It took us almost 3o minutes to reach our hotel because of all the construction, but we finally arrived. We checked in and went for a walk. We wandered down Rue de la Liberte (their main street). We wandered in a couple of shops and I made my must have purchases. I bought Dijon mustard and some Gingerbread. Apparently Dijon is well known for both! We found some dinner and then headed back to the hotel for showers and bed. Everyone is sleeping soundly at the moment. I hope they rest well because we have a long day of driving tomorrow. Tomorrow night we will be in Genoa, Italy!

They were gorgeous!

A copy of Francois Pompon's Polar Bear Sculpture. The original is in the Orsay and Adam's class studied it last year. He immediately recognized it.

They are buliding a new tram line and there was construction EVERYWHERE! It was really hard to drive and even walk with all the digging and barricades everywhere.

Felicitations les Enfants!

After school on the last day I had several kiddos over to our house to celebrate with ice cream sundaes. Our kiddos worked really hard all year and deserved a special treat! Congratulations kiddos!

Girls' Trip to Brussels

During the last week of school, a few of us mommies got together and went to Brussels for the day. We wandered around and had a really yummy lunch. This was the only picture I took that day. I was too busy enjoying myself to take anymore!

Fete de l'ecole

On the Sunday before school got out, they held the annual Fete de l'ecole. It is the school's end of the year celebration. Each class puts on a Spectac (performance) and they have lots of games, activities and food. The kiddos performances were really cute. I hope to put video up one day :-)
