Whew!

I finally caught up on all my entries. Things have been so crazy, but good! Tomorrow is the boys last day of school so we've had lots of end of the year festivities. I have posted a lot of pictures. Make sure you click "Older Posts" at the bottom of the page to see them all!

By the way, I am still working on making my blog private. If you haven't contacted me, you need to do so soon. Thanks!

Happy Father's Day

Since Abrahm was gone for Father's Day we waited until he came back home. So on Saturday afternoon we had pizza, veggies, strawberries and hamburger cupcakes that Adalee and I made. The kids were so excited to celebrate with Abrahm. Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy ever! We love you.

All of the hamburger and french fries I made. The idea and templates came from www.bakerella.com.

It really does look like a hamburger! The kids (and Abrahm) loved them.

Danses folkloriques

For Alden's class' performance at the Fete de L'ecole, they danced to folk music. It was almost like a square dance. They were so cute. What could be sweeter than a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds dancing together.
They threw some confetti out into the audience

Partons a la mer

Adam's class had already helped write and perform "Sur la plage" for their Spectac a few months ago. The song was based on a famous painting by Peter Kroyer called "Sur la plage". So for their performance at the Fete de l'ecole they acted out the song. They did such a great job. I didn't get it on video because my memory was full, but I did manage to capture some of the photos!

Fete de l'ecole

Last Sunday was the Fete de l'ecole (celebration of the school). They had many spectacs (performances by the children), food and games, and lots of fun to be had by all! The children did a great job during their performances and then had a blast playing all the games.

The Princess and the Frog

Friday nights are usually movie night at our house. It's the one time during our crazy week we all sit down quietly as a family and enjoy snuggling, watching a movie and eating popcorn. Since Abrahm was gone this past week, we decided to invite other kiddos over whose Daddies were gone as well. I made pizza and treats and then we watched "The Princess and the Frog" and had popcorn. I think we ended up with 11 kids and 5 Mommies. It was such a fun night. I think we will start doing them once a month during the deployment. It was great to get all the kiddies together and especially nice to have a nice evening chatting with all the other ladies!

I also made a few "Princess" cupcakes if any of the children didn't want a frog one.

Calendar Time!

Last time Abrahm deployed I made calendars for the children to help them understand the whole concept of time. I picked an arbitrary date for return (usually a couple of weeks after he is due home) and then we put stickers on the calendar every morning to count down. I also put special things that are happening so the children have things to look forward to. It worked really well last time, so we decided to try it again.

Since Abrahm was gone to Stavanger, Norway for a couple of weeks, I decided to go ahead and put up the deployment calendars. We had been talking about the deployment so it seemed like a good time. I will post photos of all the calendars soon, but here is our first one! The only downside is that there are just too many calendars on the wall which is overwhelming to me. The kids love it though, so I guess that is what matters the most!
